Post offices are available in Fiji and the main offices are in Suva, Nadi and Lautoka City. They open from 8am to 4pm weekdays and from 9am to noon during Saturday. Australia and New Zealand the postage reaches within a week and to North America, Europe and Asia it usually reaches its destination within 10 days.
While many resorts and hotels provide direct dialing facilities there are other places where you can use a pay phone to make calls. The cost varies with the country you are calling. Note that the international country IDD code for Fiji is 679 so when dialing any part of Fiji from overseas the procedure will be: Access code (679) + the number (7 digits) that you are dialing.
Vodafone Fiji Limited operates a GSM digital mobile communication service. This has the mobile roaming agreements with Australian (GSM) operators which are Telstra, OPTUS and Vodafone Pty and New Zealand operator Bell South and the UK operator Vodafone Ltd UK. All customers are advised to check with their network provider for their roaming services before traveling to Fiji.
Internet access is available at all resorts and various internet cafes in the towns and cities. It’s much faster than it used to be.
