The weather in Fiji will make it easier for Backers to decide on what they will be doing throughout their trip as there are the occasional rainy sessions but for most of the year, the weather is usually ideal.
The summer temperatures in Fiji average 31°C and the winter average is not very far below at a still balmy 29°C on average.Trade winds generally blow across the islands providing a nice cooling contrast to the warm sunny days and particularly make the evenings quite lovely. The main island of Viti Levu is much drier and more temperate on its western side (Sigatoka, Nadi, Lautoka, Ba and Rakiraki) while the eastern side with Suva does get quite wet and cloudy on a regular basis.
Be sure to bear in mind the weather around Fiji does vary somewhat across different islands. The smaller isles are usually more dry and sunny most of the time. The water temperature around Fiji wavers very little thus allowing you to almost always snorkel and dive in warm, friendly azure waters.
So do not forget your sun tan lotion, your beach wear, sandals or as they say here ‘flip-flops’ and the rest of your sun gear and come on down to the Fiji beaches and sunny activities that we’re famous for.
